Sweco Hydroprojekt strengthens its position within Central Asia in water management

Sweco Hydroprojekt has been commissioned for strengthening the capacity and to assist with preparation of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation project proposed for the World Bank funding. The project is expected to help improving current situation in the water supply and sanitation sector with the focus on the underserved rural areas. The area targeted under the proposed Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project includes three locations in Khatlon region of Tajikistan: Vakhsh, Vosse and Danghara-Temurmalik.

The aim of the Project is to develop water supply system and to some extent sewerage connections, with the overall objective to satisfy basic needs in drinking water supply for the population in rural areas and to secure improved public health and environmental conditions.

Within the project, the Feasibility Study, Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Documents, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), and Financial Management Technical Assistance will be developed for the State Unitary Entity “Khojagii Manziliyu Kommunali” of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan as the Beneficiary and Contracting authority for this Consultancy services.
