The project has a significant influence on reconstruction and modernisation of wastewater treatment facilities in the Republic of Belarus. The project is divided into 4 Sub-Projects: Minsk Oblast, Brest Oblast, Mogilev Oblast and Gomel Oblast. All WWTPs were constructed in 1970–1980, receive and treat approximately 24 million m3/year of wastewater.

The Project is planned to be financed through the EUR 60 million Belarus Water Sector Framework Extension. The Feasibility Studies will provide an overview of the companies’ procedures. The scope of services include development of technical and financial analyses, and Environmental and Social Assessment.

The project implementation will dramatically reduce pollution of the Baltic Sea basin as well as improve the living and social-economic conditions in services areas of particular regions of Belarus.
